Hello everyone! I
am Lee Jun-ho of Gyeongin National University of Education, currently serving
as the 20th president of the International Association of Korean Language
Education.
Welcome
to the website of the International Association of Korean Language Education
(IAKLE). Since its founding in 1985, IAKLE has been at the forefront of establishing the academic identity of Korean language pedagogy. We have led efforts to develop and expand Korean language education both domestically and internationally, striving to spread and share the beauty of the Korean language. Our progress is thanks to the dedication of past presidents, vice presidents, and board members across 19 executive teams, as well as the continued support and participation from our community. This has enabled IAKLE to solidify its role as a leading organization in the field of Korean language education. Each
year, IAKLE engages with its members through academic conferences and
workshops. Our spring domestic conference and two-day international summer
conference provide an opportunity to explore the latest topics and global trends
in Korean language education. These events also allow our members to showcase
their major research contributions, thus fostering academic growth and
innovation in the field. Additionally, we organize at least four workshops
annually in collaboration with the Korea Foundation, covering various topics
such as enhancing expertise in Korean language education. These workshops are
designed to strengthen the skills of educators by introducing cutting-edge
teaching methods and the latest research approaches. IAKLE
also publishes the academic journal of Korean Language Education four
times a year. As an academic journal registered with the National Research
Foundation of Korea, it presents the latest findings in both theory and
practice. The journal holds a prominent position in the field, with one of the
highest citation indices among the 98 journals in the “Korean language and
literature” category. Our
goal is to continue fostering the growth of Korean language education in terms
of both its depth and reach. From September 2023 to August 2025, the 20th
executive team is committed to fulfilling the responsibilities and advancing
the mission entrusted to IAKLE. We pledge to listen attentively to the voices
of our 2,500 members and work collaboratively to drive the organization
forward. To
all of the IAKLE members, we sincerely ask for your continued support and
involvement in shaping the future of our association. Please do not hesitate to
share your thoughts, ensuring that no aspect of IAKLE’s management goes
unattended. With heartfelt dedication, we will carefully plan and execute
various activities, including academic conferences, to serve our community. Thank
you. |
