The Journal of Korean Language Education (JKLE) is an open-access academic journal published by the International Association for Korean Language Education (IAKLE), freely accessible to all readers. 



History


  • Established in 1989
  • Became a biannual publication in 1998

Aims and scope


  Established in 1989, JKLE is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to exploring a wide range of topics within Korean language education. It provides a forum for in-depth research and scholarly discourse, integrating the latest theories and findings from related fields such as the humanities, linguistics, Korean linguistics, and education. The journal aims to offer academically rigorous and practical solutions to the diverse challenges encountered in the field of Korean language education.


Since its indexing in the Korea Citation Index (KCI) of the National Research Foundation of Korea in 2001, JKLE has established a strong reputation as a leading and authoritative voice in Korean language education research. Through a rigorous peer-review process, the journal publishes only those research articles that demonstrate verified academic excellence, thereby playing a pivotal role in the advancement of scholarship in this field. Notably, it holds the highest Impact Factor and Citation Index among Korean language education journals in Korea.
